An 11 episodes anime squeezed into 2 hours is quite an incredible feat by itself, and i am impressed the essence (friendship and portrayal of Menma) still remains. Kudos to the production team. The live action is well-executed and is as realistic as it can get given the supernatural-ness that surrounds the whole story. These are: Jin-tan — The hikikomori.Anaru — She just wants to hang out with her girlfriends.Yukiatsu and Tsuruko — These two are proper school-going students.Poppo — Rather than enter high school, he had opted to do some travelling.Menma — The one unchanging constant of the group.One day, Menma meets Jin-tan and asks him to fulfil her wish. Jinta and Poppo think that Menma's manifestation has been caused by an unresolved wish she had. Thinking that she might of wished for a rare Nokemon, Jinta and Poppo join forces with Atsuma to get it.
